Lesson Learned: God Never Fails

Over the last two weeks, I have experienced both the joys and the frustrations of setting up a new computer here in my study. My former desktop was over six years old and was beginning to have some component breakdowns in recent months, so it was time for an upgrade.

My new Dell computer is extremely powerful and fast, and has the most unbelievably bright wide screen monitor. For that I'm very grateful. Unfortunately, the operating system on my new machine is Windows Vista, and it has not been very cooperative.

Even after a host of help menus and Google searches, I'm still struggling to get it connected to our network office printer. And on top of that, I just learned yesterday that HP decided not to provide the Vista drivers for my HP Scanner. Ugh. Headaches and more headaches.

As I continued to battle technology this morning, I was struck with the blessed reminder that God never fails. Never breaks down. Never needs updating. Never leaves you frustrated...or hanging. Never makes you pay for His assistance. No--- His rate of perfection remains eternally unchanging at 100%. He is an unchanging, unfailing God.

"For I, the LORD, do not change..." Malachi 3:6 NASB

"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." James 1:17 NASB

When everything is shifting underneath your feet (or in this case, fingers), what a blessed opportunity to stop and consider the things that never change--- those things you can always count on. Surely, the LORD God is the greatest unchangeable in the Universe.

Thank you Lord, for being such a wonderful, unchanging God. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. May this uncooperative, expensive metal box be the stepping stone for me to draw closer to you and wonder at Your immutable character.
